An Ode to Hanaroo Sushi Bar
Yesterday at 5pm, Hanaroo Sushi Bar of Little Rock posted on their Facebook page that they are shutting their doors after 12 years.
The sushi spot has been a favorite among locals specifically those living and working in downtown Little Rock for many years. Hanaroo Sushi Bar was where I started my journey into sushi beyond the California Roll.
For me, Hanaroo was more than just a place that I could get affordable sushi and bento boxes. It was where I went with new colleagues for lunch when I got my first full-time job after graduating from the UofA. It was where I found out that one of my friends was moving away with her family due to air force relocation. Hanaroo has been a place that we have all enjoyed through the highs and lows.
Since their closing message, Hanaroo has seen an outpour of comments from loyal customers expressing their sadness from the announcement and gratefulness for the many years that the restaurant spent serving Little Rock. Today, April 20th is Hanaroo’s last day in business. They had quite a busy lunch rush today and will serve us for the last time from 5pm to 9:30pm.
To celebrate all the amazing times that were had and meals shared, please share your favorite memory or meal from Hanaroo Sushi Bar!
